Migrants to Australia 1996-2011 - How Many People & The Countries They Are From

Below is a summary of data from an excel spreadsheet titled 'Permanent additions, 1996-97 to 2010-11' published by the Department of Immigration, Australian Government.

According to that spreadsheet there were 2,331,187 migrants or 'permanent additions' to Australia for the 14 years 1996-97 to 2010-11.

The largest immigrant groups were from the United Kingdom, New Zealand, China, India, South Africa, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam. Figures are listed below.
